Abstract

Hypothyroidism is the second most common endocrine disorders worldwide. One of the most common thyroid diseases. It affects people all over the world of every age, sex, race, and level of wealth and education. The Primary objective of the study is to document the diagnostic patterns of Neikkuri in Kurai Veedhana Noi (Hypothyroidism) and to observe for any significant Neerkuri and Neikkuri pattern which may provide a clue in the diagnosis, prognosis or its complications. Neerkuri and Neikkuri are a couple of the special diagnostic and prognostic tools chosen to elucidate the clinical condition of Kurai Veedhana Noi. Based on Neerkuri examination done in the study, no specific association could be found out between the test results and diagnosis. There results were more of non-Specific in character. From this study it can be concluded that the predominant pattern of Neikkuri obtained in the condition of Kurai Veedhana Noi are Pithakabam (28.5%) and Kabam (16.3%) which indicates the imprint pathophysiology of Kurai Veedhana Noi in which the predominant humoural variations are reduced Pitham and increased Kabam. And also it is hypothesized that more the severity of hypothyroidism, more the chances of the appearance of typical individual humoural patterns of exclusive Kabam and Pitham. And as the TSH value is reduced to normalcy, the typical initial pathophysiology of the Kurai Veedhana Noi, Pithakabam, showed up in the Neikkuri. Further studies with more controlled sample are appreciable to find out the inter relation between the diagnostic parameters and also to standardise this cost effective Neikkuri method. So, for early diagnosis, proper selection of the line of treatment and assessment of prognosis this examination of Neekuri and Neikkuri will be more handy and the affected population will be benefited.
