Abstract

A pre-experimental study to assess the effectiveness of selected nursing intervention on social interaction skills among mentally challenged adolescents in selected institution, Kerala. Objective To assess the pre intervention level of social interaction skills and to assess the effectiveness of selected nursing intervention on social interaction skills among mentally challenged adolescents. Research Approach Quantitative research approach. METHODOLOGY Pre –experimental one group pre test and post test design. RESULTS The findings of the study revealed that the mean difference score was 18.8 and the calculated ‘t’ value 22.675 which showed that there was significant improvement between the pre and post intervention level of social interaction skills among mentally challenged adolescents at p<0.001 level, thus the selected nursing interventions had a beneficial effect on social interaction skills among mentally challenged adolescents.
