Abstract

AIM OF THE STUDY: This study was aimed to determine effectiveness ofhomoeopathic medicines in the case of heamorrhoids as well as the improvement of patients based on symptomatic relief. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A sample of 30 cases presenting with haemorrhoids visiting the OPD, IPD and rural centers of Sarada Krishna Homoeopathic Medical College Hospital for homoeopathic treatment were randomly selected for the study. The subject will be selected irrespective of age, sex, socioeconomic status & occupation. The case details were recorded in standardized pre structured case format of Sarada Krishna Homoeopathic Medical College. Then the cases were analyzed and the totality was erected after which symptoms were evaluated. Diagnosis was based on the clinical observation. The cases were repertorised (if needed) and a suitable remedy was prescribed. Every case will be followed for minimum of 4 months and assessment was done in every 15 days interval and the changes were recorded.Scoring chart was also included for the pre and post test assessment. Paired t-test was done for the Statistical Analysis. RESULT: Among the 30 cases, Among the 30 cases, 23 cases show marked improvement (76.66%), 6 cases show moderate improvement (20%) and one case (3.33%) shows mild improvement. In statistical analysis of scoring before and after treatment, the calculated value of ‘t’ is 16.168 is greater than tabled value of ‘t’ 2.045 at 5% significance with n-1 degrees of freedom which shows that the test is statistically significant. CONCLUSION: This study shows that Homoeopathic medicines are effective in the management of Haemorrhoids. For the study materials are collected from the OPD, IPD in the Sarada Krishna Homoeopathic Medical College. Analysis is done by using paired t test.
