Abstract

Oral delivery remains the most favorable and preferred route for drug administration due to its versatility, ease of administration and most \importantly patient compliance. Providing patients with simplified and convenient oral medications that improve compliance and thus result in a more effective treatment has been one of the major drivers of innovation in the oral drug delivery market. Currently more than 60% of drugs are marketed as oral products. However, many drugs cannot be effectively delivered by the oral route of administration in their original form due to reasons of instability, low membrane permeability, poor solubility and efflux transport mechanisms. Overcoming these barriers is currently one of the most challenging goals in oral drug delivery. In conclusion, it can be said that combining various strategies has shown an improvement in the bioavailability of FAM and CAP effectively. The strategies employed, excipients and equipments are routinely used and can very easily be scaled up. Thus it can be conclusively said that the \goals envisaged have been fulfilled.
