Abstract
The study of Siddhars classified the diseases into 4448 types.Among the various types of skin diseases, I have selected “venpuli noi” for my dissertation Topic. Venpulli noi or venpadai which has the comparable entity with vitiligo is a condition in which skin and mind are affected. It is an acquired depigmented condition of the skin characterized by the appearance of ivory white patches of the skin.Thiribala Nei (internal) and Thagarai Lebam (external) were administered to 40 Venpulli Noi patients for the study. Results shows that 12.5% of patients were shown good relief, 50% of patients were shown moderate relief, 27.5% patients were shown mild relief and 10% of cases were shown no relief.The trial drug is moderately effective to the disease. The drug is free from side effects. So it can be used for long term purposes.
