Abstract

Chronic suppurative otitis media is defined as chronic inflammation of middle ear and mastoid cavity that presents with recurrent ear discharge of more than three months duration through a perforated tympanic membrane. CSOM is a major health problem in developing countries causing serious local damage and threatening complications. It is an important cause of preventable hearing loss in developing countries.
