The aim of the study is to conduct a clinical study on documentation of Siddha diagnostic methods for Kallerippan. ❖ The disease is characterised by Alteration in foods, habits and disequilibrium between three domains. ❖ Review of literature and aetiology from various sources had been collected. ❖ 40 cases were observed and diagnosed in OPD of Government Siddha Medical College, Palayamkottai. ❖ Based on symptoms medicines Amirthathi chooranam 2gm, Neermulli kudineer 60ml, Thiripala Thylam 30ml (External) were given in General OPD, Government Siddha Medical College, Palayamkottai. ❖ Log book and proforma were maintained for all the 40 patients. ❖ Alteration in Siddha parameters like Kaalam, Nilam, Iymporigal, Iympulangal, Thegailakanam and Manikadai nool are recorded. ❖ Derangement Uyir Thathukkal and Udal Thathukkal in the disease had been discussed. ❖ Envagai Thervugal had been studied in detail and their interpretation had been done. ❖ From this observational study, 52.5% of patients neerkuri had straw coloured urine, 35% had milky white colour urine , 17.5% of the patient had froth in urine and the Neikuri pattern of the patient was 35% of Kabha Pitham (Muthil moothiram) and naadi of the patient was Vatha Pitham in 37.5% of cases and Kabha Pitham of 27.55% of cases. ❖ Based on the above observation, Line of treatment and Dietary regimen had been recommended. CONCLUSION: In this study the diagnosis of disease “Kallerippan” as per Siddha diagnostic procedures elucidated in the Siddha text books were done elaborately and the results observed were recorded and interpretated. ❖ Siddha diagnostic methods such as Naadi, Neerkuri, Neikuri and Manikadai Nool observed were significantly related with the disease Kallerippan. ❖ The study has been conducted as an observational study only. However, more experimental studies and observational studies with larger samples should be carried out in validating the research in more efficient way in future.
