Abstract

The objective of this study as to develop an extended-release matrix tablet of Levosulpiride for once daily therapy. It has been observed in this investigation that using HPM K4M and Carbopol 974P combination retarded the drug release than using alone. It may be concluded from the study, formulation F9 (contains HPMC K4 M and Carbopol 974P) has showed Levosulpiride release over a period of 24 hrs. The mechanism of drug release from F9 was diffusion coupled with erosion. So, in this study formulation F9 is a better system for once daily therapy of Levosulpiride. However, further studies should be concluded to support our in vivo results.
