Abstract
TITLE: Assess etiological factors of obesity among children (6 -12 years) at selected school, Madurai. OBJECTIVES: 1. To assess etiological factors of obesity among children (6 -12 years) at selected school, Madurai. 2. To associate etiological factors of obesity among children (6 -12 years) at selected school, Madurai with their selected socio demographic variables. HYPOTHESIS: There is a statistically significant association between etiological factors of obesity among children (6 -12 years) at selected school, Madurai with their selected socio demographic variables. METHODOLOGY: Non experimental descriptive research design used. 110 subjects were selected by Non – probability (Consecutive) sampling. RESULTS: This study revealed that majority of the subjects, in male 39 (35.45%) and in female 34 (30.09%) were had moderate chance of obesity. CONCLUSION: The study findings evidence that children (6 – 12 years) were had moderate chance of obesity.
