Abstract
TITLE: Assess the behavioral pattern of children brought up by parents Vs grand parents in pediatric ward, GRH, Madurai. OBJECTIVES: 1. To assess the behavioral pattern of children brought up by parents. 2. To assess the behavioral pattern of children brought up by grand parents. 3. To compare the behavioral pattern of children brought up by parents or grand parents. 4. To associate the behavioral pattern of children brought by parents or grand parents in pediatric ward GRH, Madurai, with their selected socio demographic variables. HYPOTHESIS: There is statistically significant difference between the behavioral pattern of children brought up by parents or grand parents. There is statistically significant association between the behavioral pattern of children brought up by parents or grand parents in pediatric ward, GRH, Madurai with their selected socio demographic variables. METHODOLOGY: Non experimental descriptive research design was used to select 200 subjects by Non – probability (Consecutive) sampling. RESULTS: Chi square revealed that, χ2 = 0.963 at p= 0.05 level. There is statistically significant difference between children brought up by parents or grand parents. CONCLUSION: The study finding evidenced that children brought up by grand parents had statistically significant abnormal behavior pattern than the child brought up by parents.
