Homoeopathy is a system of medical science with successful application in humans, but its effect on growth, survival and immune responses in aquaculture is still preliminary. Unregulated use of potent antibiotics in aquaculture industries produces undesirable side effects. Vibrio species causes mortality in shrimp aquaculture. Among the Vibrio species, V. cholerae severe hazard as it can cause threating illness to humans. In this study V. cholerae were induced to 5 groups of 40 shrimps. Of this Group A is left as a control and another group B received Tetracycline (10mg kg-1) and the remaining Groups C, D, E received Homoeopathic medicine of Cuprum arsenicosum12c,30c and 200c respectively. In between the 30 days trial, bacterial load has been checked on 10thday,20th day and 30thday. Simultaneously length and weight of the shrimps, CMI and survival rate parameters has been calculated. Cuprum arsenicosum found to be effective in controlling the pathogenicity of cholera with respect to all the above-mentioned parameters in all the 3 potencies of which 200th potency is found to be most effective. The study is statistically significant with a p value < 0.05.
