Abstract

BACKGROUND: Rhinitis is the commonest chronic disease of human beings. One in six people suffer from rhinitis. Allergic Rhinitis (AR) constitutes more than 50% of all allergies in India, and its incidence is steadily increasing worldwide. However allergic rhinitis can be managed with homoeopathic medicine with ascending LM potency treatment. This study was done to role of ascending LM potency in the management of allergic rhinitis. METHODS: A clinical study on thirty cases with Allergic rhinitis was taken for the study from the OPD, IPD and rural centers of Sarada Krishna Homoeopathic Medical College Hospital. The study cases were selected randomly as per the inclusion criteria and diagnosis was mainly based on the clinical presentation. Improvement criteria were based on the symptomatic relief according to score chart. RESULTS: The result of this study showed that 28 (93%) cases were markedly improved and 2 (7%) cases showed mild improvement. The results are based on the statistical analysis of before and after treatment score. CONCLUSION: The study resulted that ascending LM potency treatment is very effective in the treatment of patients with Allergic rhinitis. Homoeopathy treats the patient as a whole and it prevents the frequent recurrence of Allergic rhinitis and thus the quality of life can be improved.
