Abstract

AIM OF THE STUDY: To compare the centeringability and canal transportation of K flex-file , continuous rotary, reciprocating file and single file system in mesio buccal root of maxillary first molar using computerized tomography. MATERIALS AND METHODS: 80 maxillary first molars were selected and Mesiobuccal roots with completely formed apices and angles of curvature ranging between 20 to 40 degree were used in the study. instrumentation was done with K-flex files, Protaper Next, Waveone and Neoniti files. Using pre and post instrumentation images obtained from Spiral CT, canal centering and transportation were observed. Statistical analysis was done using ANOVA and Post-Hoc TUKEY tests. RESULTS: Wave one reciprocating file system showed statistically significant difference in canal centering ratio and showed less canal transportation at all three levels(coronal, middle and apical third) when compared to k flex files, protaper next and single file system. CONCLUSION: Wave one reciprocating file maintained the canal centering ratio and showed least canal transportation at all three levels(coronal, middle and apical third) when compared to the other three systems.
