Laboratory diagnosis was done by modern methods of examinations. Diagnosis had been based on the specially prepared proforma, including all clinical signs and symptoms of the disease, in which detailed history had been taken. The signs, symptoms, and etiopathogenesis of upper respiratory illlness explained in modern diagnosis have lot of similarities with the disease entity valikanam. The medicine chosen for clinical treatment and management of valikanam is Sanpaga Poo Nei & Neeer Mulli Kudineer internally two times in a day for 5 days. All the patients were kept under strict dietary control during the treatment. The observation on effect of therapy was encouraging. The clinical efficacy of the drug was analyzed statistically on all the symptoms mentioned in the assessment criteria. The observation made during the clinical study showed that the trail drug Sanpaga Poo Nei & Neeer Mulli Kudineer was clinically effective. In Bio chemical analysis, the trial medicine Sanpaga Poo Nei had calcium ferrous iron, phosphate, and Fluride, starch, tannins, alkaloids, Neeer Mulli Kudineer had tannins, iron, calcium. CONCLUSION: All the forty patients of valikanam were treated with sanpaga poo nei & Neeer Mulli Kudineer internally two times in a day. The ingredients of Sanpaga Poo Nei & Neeer Mulli Kudineer are feasible and useful; these compounds may serve as potentially useful drug candidates for development at a lower cost. The medicine has many properties to control the signs and symptoms of valikanam. During the course of treatment, no adverse interactions were observed. Clinical results were found to be significant good improvement was found in 52.5% of cases, moderate in 27.5% of cases, mild in 20% of cases. Because of the efficient results clinically, the study may be carried over to further researches and it may motivate the upcoming generation to manage the disease valikanam through the siddha medicine and also this study throw new glitters for the Siddha Medicine. The present clinical study has established that Sanpaga Poo Nei & Neeer Mulli Kudineer is having good result in reducing the majority of symptoms of the valikanam.
