Abstract

The Primary objective of the study is to analyze and discuss the various established reconstructive option. The secondary objective is to arrive at a logical conclusion for selecting the reconstructive procedures considering the functional & aesthetic outcome. The study was conducted at Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital & Madras Medical College during the period September, 2009 to February 2012. Thirty patients with hand defects were analyzed and reconstruction done, keeping in mind the functional & aesthetic outcome. Based on the analysis of results reconstructive algorithm was obtained.
