Abstract

BACKGROUND: Dyslipidemia is a common disorder that causes atherosclerotic changes in the arteries leading to several Cardiovasular diseases. For treating Dyslipidemia, several treatment options are available nowadays. This study was done to evaluate the importance of Antimiasmatic treatment in treatment of Dyslipidemia. METHODS: A clinical study on 30 cases with Dyslipidemia was done at Sarada Krishna Homoeopathic Medical College Hospital and Rural Centers. The study cases were selected as per the inclusion criteria and diagnosis was mainly based on investigatory Lipid Profile Test. Improvement criteria were based on the Lipid Profile Test values and Body Mass Index levels. RESULTS: The study shows that Total Cholesterol values are reduced upto 32 – 57%, the Low Density Lipoprotein values were improved upto 3 – 57%, the High Density Lipoprotein values were improved upto 3 – 75%, the Very Low Density Lipoprotein values were improved upto 20 – 33%, the Triglycerides values were improved upto 6 – 35% and the Body Mass Index values were improved upto 3 – 18%. The major age group affected with Dyslipidemia is found to be between 31 – 35 years. CONCLUSIONS: The results of the study were highly satisfying and the role of antimiasmatic treatment in the treatment Dyslipidemia has been very effective and rapid than any other means of treatment.
