Abstract

OBJECTIVES: This study is aimed to study the effect of homeopathic medicines in the management of the psychological impact of domestic violence. A sample of 30 patients were selected from the Sarada Krishna Homeopathic Medical College. Homeopathic medicine based on the Reportorial totality of the Complete Repertory were given to the patients. The study included only the effects of physical and psychological violence. Psychological impact was studied in terms of anxiety, sleeplessness and loss of self-esteem. The patients were assessed using standard rating scales. HAM-A rating scale was used for anxiety and Rosenberg self- esteem scale for self-esteem, PIRS 20 scale for insomnia. RESULTS: The study found that women who are victims of domestic violence suffered from anxiety, sleeplessness and loss of self-esteem. Based on the before and after scores it was found that homeopathic medicines based on the Complete Reportorial totality were effective. CONCLUSIONS: Homoeopathic medicine selected on the Repertorial totality of Complete Repertory are effective in the management of domestic violence.
