To associate the probability level of developing deep vein thrombosis among post operative patients at Government Rajaji Hospital, Madurai with their selected socio-demographic and clinical variables. HYPOTHESES: There is a significant difference in the post test probability level of developing deep vein thrombosis between intervention and control group among post operative patients at Government Rajaji Hospital Madurai. There is a significant association between the probability level of developing deep vein thrombosis among post operative patients at Government Rajaji Hospital with their selected socio-demographic and clinical variables. CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK: Modified Wiedenbach’s Helping Art of Clinical Nursing theory. METHODOLOGY: Quantitative-True-experimental posttest only design and consecutive sampling technique. FINDINGS: The findings revealed that there was a significant difference in the probability level of developing deep vein thrombosis between interventional group and control group. It was proud by student Student’s independent t-test value t = 2.78, p= 0.01. CONCLUSION: The study concluded that prophylactic measures is a non-pharmacological therapy and cost effective to prevent the probability level of developing deep vein thrombosis among post operative patients.
